1, 2, 3.....GO!

So....i think if i had to pick a friend to hold the rope that keeps me from falling off the cliff....i'm pretty sure i'd just cut the rope myself to save me from the misery of watching them let go....hahaha...its a wonderful world.

I first want to state that i am not bothered by this, but am kinda confused by it.

Why? do people feel an almost inexorable need to tell me all of the personal details of their lives.  I'm not disturbed by this and I don't mind listening and talking.  But, I constantly find new acquaintances and old willing to offer the most intimate and sometimes disturbing insights into their lives, with no apparent prompting.  Relationships; Personal Problems; Drama of all shapes and sizes.  Is there a reason for this?  Do i listen in a soothing manner?  Does my company induce an illusion of an aged divan and a small dank room?  If so, i find this a little amusing.  Although I used to believe otherwise, I am pretty sure that I no longer listen.  I merely wait to talk.  Don't let this discourage you though, speak away.  I was just curious.  And as always, any insight would be welcome.
